SCV London – Consumer Protection Statement

SCV London is the authorised UK national distributor for all the brands represented on the SCV London website. It is our goal that our products should be represented to you in a professional manner and that the purchase of our products is a rewarding and problem free experience.
With this in mind we would like to point out some important factors when considering where and how you purchase these products.
Safety and conformity
All electrical products sold in Europe must meet certain standards of safety and environmental compliance. All products sold by SCV London through our authorised dealers meet these standards. However products being offered by non-authorised dealers may not originate from an EU authorised source and may not conform to these requirements. Please be aware that products purchased via the internet from a reseller with a UK website, may not be supplied from within the UK. It is important to check that the internet retailer is a UK registered company.
Power requirements
Only product purchased from an authorised dealer in the UK can be guaranteed to be set up for the correct voltage. Although in most cases the European operating voltage of 230V is acceptable for use on the UK’s 240V system, some products are intolerant to this difference and may fail to work correctly unless designed for use with a 240V mains supply. In the case of product purchased from a source outside the EU, such as America or Japan, the difference in the operating voltage can lead to serious damage to your equipment.
After sales support and warranty
SCV London operates a comprehensive after sales technical support service backed up with a 12 month parts and labour warranty. If you have any problems with your equipment purchase we will endeavour to ensure that your inconvenience is kept to a minimum.
This service is only available to customers of UK authorised dealers, and will not be extended to cover any purchases from abroad. If you purchase one of our products from a dealer abroad you will have to contact that dealer for support or service in case of any problems. This is a policy fully endorsed by all of the manufacturers we represent.
Authorised dealers
Most, if not all bona fide audio retailers, with operating addresses in the UK, selling SCV distributed products, should be authorised dealers of SCV London. However if a UK retailer is not known to us and is offering SCV distributed products for sale then the product they are offering will most likely have originated from outside the UK. If you are in any doubt as to whether or not a retailer is authorised to sell our products please call our sales line on 020 8418 1470 and we will be happy to advise you. We would also advise you that if you see one of our products advertised as new at an unusually low price it is possible that it might fall into one of two categories; 1) It might be advertised by an unauthorised retailer or 2) it might not be a new product, perhaps second hand or ex-demonstration. If in doubt we urge you first to check with our sales team on the number above. |
